“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:34 & 35 NIV
Jesus is our example of how to love one another. In the Bible we have example after example of how he did this: he healed people, he placed value on people that others rejected and he
commands us to do the same. Showing love is not a charitable choice, it is a commandment to just and right living. It is every Christian’s calling.
A church that demonstrates ‘One Another Care’ will continue to grow as a healthy, loving and restorative community that is welcoming to others. Such care may be formally expressed in structured Health and Pastoral Care ministries.
One Another Care course has four sessions to equip people with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to support a person living with trauma, injury, illness, abuse and/or disability:
Session 1: Why – Biblical principles underpinning ‘One Another Care’
Session 2: Who – Understand the person, models of caring, teamwork, and restorative practice
Session 3: How – Ethical and legal approaches for effective ‘One Another Care’
Session 4: What – Understanding transition and responses to loss and grief
‘One Another Care’ is a two-day foundation course (full) or one-day condensed version that can be abbreviated to 2 sessions of 4 hours, or 4 sessions of 2 hours upon request.
Baptist Care SA is willing to provide the training FREE to Baptist Churches including the provision of advertising material and participant workbooks at a time and place that suits your needs.
