Christmas Wrap.

Christmas Wrap.

Over 1,000 people received the gift of hope from Baptist Care SA this Christmas…

Carols in the Square

To kick off the festive season we held our Carols in the Square event at Whitmore Square in partnership with City of Adelaide and Westcare Baptist Church. Over 500 people attended on the night to enjoy good food, music, the message of Christmas and a great sense of community. We extend a big thank you to our sponsors Beyond Bank, Australia Post and StreetFleet, along with our community partners, staff, volunteers and all who attended on the night.

Christmas Toy Appeal

At our Inner City site, a magical Christmas cave ‘appeared’, complete with decorations and festive music. 360 children visited the cave with their families and selected their gifts, which were donated through the WestCare Toy Appeal.

“The expectation and joy was just bubbling over,” said Inner City Manager, Stefano Tocci. “It was so wonderful to see the delight, surprise and smiles as people walked in!”

Thank you to our fabulous donors, staff and volunteers, and a special thanks to Toy Mendous for their donation of two trestle tables full of handmade, wooden toys!

Christmas Lunch

On Christmas Day, the WestCare Centre dining hall was transformed, as tables were laden with decorations and treats, and a delicious three course meal was served to 100 people.

A highlight was when one of the guests, Lisa* excitedly shared the good news that she would be shortly moving into a new home! Lisa gave her thanks for the support she received throughout the year, and the air filled with well wishes.

Thank you once again to our wonderful WestCare kitchen team, as well as the many staff and volunteers who assisted on the day.

Limestone Coast Toy Run

In Mount Gambier, over $10,000 was raised through our first Limestone Coast Toy Run – with 354 children receiving gifts, which were delivered through 16 local school and community support agencies.

Thank you to the team at Mt Gambier for all their hard work, and to our sponsor Roundwood Solutions.
