COACH Mentoring
Supporting people from all different walks of life

Through a community strengthening program, Baptist Care SA trains volunteers from local church communities to become COACH Mentors and matches them with individuals in need.

Faith-based but not faith-biased, COACH seeks to support people from all different walks of life. It focuses on modelling Christ-centeredness, grace, care, trust and interdependence in relationships with others. We believe God cares deeply for the marginalised in society and our mission is to join in with Him to help people flourish emotionally, socially, economically and spiritually.

A COACH mentor is a friend with purpose who offers practical help and mentoring towards life goals.

These may include:

  • family cohesion
  • education and training
  • employment
  • financial management
  • housing
  • improving mental health
  • reducing addictive habits
  • decreasing social isolation
  • improved physical and emotional wellbeing.

We acknowledge Aboriginal people as the state’s first peoples, recognise their traditional ownership, and respect their cultural heritage, beliefs, deep connection and continued guardianship of land and waters. We value the contributions of Elders past and present, and are committed to learning from those emerging.
