Spring Appeal

For thousands of South Australians, this is their ‘new normal’.  People who’ve never had to ask for anything are coming to us for help to feed themselves and their families.

The latest Household, Income and Labour Dynamics in Australia (HILDA) Survey shines a light on those most vulnerable to the COVID-19 economic downturn – low-wage workers, women and young people.1

In Baptist Care SA services, over the past four months, demand for emergency relief and basic necessities has increased 700%.2

People like Cathy3, who is struggling to put food on the table and is fearful of becoming sick.  “WestCare has been a lifesaver for me.  They keep us safe providing COVID-19 tests, health and hygiene advice and health checks.”

Let’s continue to respond as a community and stand together with the record numbers of South Australians who need our help right now.
