Creative locals have developed valuable horticultural, retail, entrepreneurial and other workplace skills through our new Work Ready project ‘Seed to Market’.
Run through our ACE Transition Pathways program in partnership with Scoop SA, our Building Family Opportunities and Community Links program participants co-created a brand new product that’s completely unique to the region.
The result? ‘Wild Pesto’, made entirely from edible weeds and other plants grown, found and foraged on the Fleurieu. It sold out at the recent Willunga market and new orders have been made and met.
Almost a third of participants gained employment and/or returned to study during the project.
You can purchase our edible and native pot plants and delicious jars of wild pesto from Scoop SA farm gate, local wineries and retail outlets! Contact Baptist Care SA at T: 08 8387 3787 for further information.
