All children and young people have rights and those who are in care also have another, special set of rights. These rights are set out in lists, called ‘Charters’. These can be used by these children and young people to advocate for themselves and adults can use them to talk with them about their rights and to help advocate for them.
The Charter of Rights for Children and Young People in Care can be found HERE.
As an organisation charged with the care of children, Baptist Care SA works hard to ensure that we uphold these rights in the work we do. We demonstrate our commitment to this by meeting the requirements of the Office of the Guardian for Children and Young People’s Endorsement Program.
As part of this, we have nominated Charter Champions for each of our sites. Each of these people is willing to be a leader on children’s rights.
