Let’s find a way to make everyone feel welcome.
Support for minors
A child is a child; needing their parents; longing to feel safe. Sadly, this is not always possible. A number of children arrive in Australia alone after they have been separated from their parents in their home countries or at refugee camps.
This heartbreaking situation warrants a caring solution and our Unaccompanied Humanitarian Minors (UHM) Program is the way we do this. As the sole provider of this service in South Australia, we organise residential care and support services to minors on certain visas in Australia who are under the Guardianship of the Chief Executive for Immigration and Border Protection.
We support these children until they are 18 and ready to move out into the world with new skills and independence.
