Shane Austin
Chief Executive

A strong drive to achieve social justice was just one reason for Shane to join Baptist Care SA.

Viewing everyone’s value in society to be of equal value, he wants to use his skills, talents and education to evaluate the inequities and inequalities of society and implement change.

“I really love seeing people thrive – anyone!

Kids, seeing my colleagues and teams thrive, and to see the clients,” he says.

“I love cheering people on.”

Sue Raw
Chief Financial Officer

It was the opportunity to help make a difference which inspired Sue to join the team at Baptist Care SA.

“It’s working within an organisation that serves in a really practical way – for those who have practical needs, or who don’t have a voice, or those who just need help in order to do day-to-day life.”

Karen Brook
General Manager People and Culture

Kate McGarry
General Manager Community Services

Kate joined the Baptist Care SA team hoping to restore healing and help people build relationships with others, themselves and God.

Witnessing the work happening on the frontline; securing a house for a homeless person, supporting young people reunify with their families and enabling those living with a disability to achieve some independence makes her heart sing.

“It’s watching and supporting people to achieve what they want to achieve – we’re very privileged.”

Grant Pearson
General Manager Mission and Business Development

Striving to bring social justice to the community using a caring and faith-based response, Grant joined the team at Baptist Care SA.

Taking a respectful approach to his work, he wanted to engage in restorative practices to help people thrive.

“Seeing that you’re part of making a difference in the community is important for me,” he says.

“Seeing people flourish and be empowered; that’s what excites me.”
