Winds of Winter, COVID and Change

Once again, we stand ‘Alone Together’ as we face both Winter and CoVID-19

Let me begin by expressing my sincere thanks to all our staff, volunteers and students on placement for your continuing efforts to support our vulnerable clients not only through the winter season but particularly through the recent statewide COVID lockdown. I know that this adds yet another layer of adversity onto the lives of many and your work to assist our clients to remain hopeful and stay on track with their support plans.

My own time for Change…

It has been my privilege to lead Baptist Care SA over the last 3.5 years and to serve alongside a growing team of very skilled and dedicated executives, managers, staff and volunteers.

Through our work together, I know that the lives of children, young people, families, groups and individuals have been lifted up from the depths of adversity and given opportunities to experience the fullness of life.

In accordance with my original plan when I started the CEO role, and in conjunction with the Board, I advise that will not be seeking an extension to my current four-year contract which concludes at the end of this year.

Thanks to the ongoing support of the Baptist Churches of SA and the collective efforts of the Baptist Care SA Board, the Foundation Board, the Executive and wider management and staff teams, I am very pleased to see that the bold aspirations expressed in the Strategic Horizons Plan are being fulfilled and I believe this organisation is now much stronger as a result of our collective efforts.

Inspired by the Servant Heart of Jesus Christ, I have every confidence that the capacity of Baptist Care SA to fulfil its ongoing mission to provide quality services to vulnerable people in South Australian communities will continue to go from strength to strength.

As for me, after a good break and some time with my family (currently including 8 beautiful grandchildren), I look forward to doing some writing and returning to consultancy work in due course.

May God bless us now as we all prepare for the transition processes ahead of us!

Please feel free to contact an Executive Leader or me if you have any queries.

Thank you all for your continuing efforts to make great things happen!

Graham Brown
Chief Executive Officer

P.S – I hope to get around to various service delivery sites over the next few months to hear more about the great work that I know you are all doing… once COVID Restrictions have lifted!
