Supported Independent Living is one type of help or supervision with daily tasks to help you live independently and build your daily living skills.
Supported Independent Living is best suited for people with higher level support needs who need some level of help at home all the time.
Supported Independent Living offers people greater independence, control over their lives, and the opportunity to live in their own homes, while being supported by Support Workers who know and understand their needs. This helps people to build skills and confidence, and to develop social networks and support systems while improving their mental and physical health, and overall wellbeing.
You can receive Supported Independent Living services in a house you live in. If you don’t have a house, we can help you find one.
SIL does not pay for rent, home modifications or day-to-day living expenses, like food.
Supported Independent Living provides support to help participants with daily tasks, build skills and live as independently as possible.
