Each year, we provide over 50,000 free and nutritious meals to people experiencing homelessness.

Food brings everyone together and people experience feeling part of a community.

By sharing a table and a meal, people get to have conversations and experience companionship.

This simple act can connect people and be the first step towards long term solutions that change lives.

Baptist Care SA’s WestCare Kitchen is completely funded thanks to the generosity of our kind donors.

Open for breakfast and lunch

Each weekday morning, we open our doors and invite our neighbours from all walks of life to come together and enjoy delicious healthy food in the company of others.

Our free community breakfasts are prepared by our chef and a team of volunteers with food that has been donated or purchased with donated funds and provided free to our community.

On weekdays other than Wednesdays, lunches are $2.50. The low cost is consistent with our view that providing our community with the dignity of choice that offers a hand up rather than a handout. Lunches on Wednesdays are free.

Our kitchen is open between 9am and 1pm, Monday to Friday.

Christmas Lunch

On Christmas Day, our dedicated team of staff and volunteers cook and serve lunch to our community.

We decorate our dining room and crank up the Christmas tunes to welcome about 100 people who join us for hearty meal and a feeling of togetherness.

Many are people with no where else to go. Some are children visiting their parents who have brought them along to share in the joy.

Everyone is welcome. Our heart embraces all.

Because no one should go hungry or feel alone at Christmas.

  • Donations of food

  • Christmas Day volunteers

Christmas Day volunteers serve more than just meals. They bring huge smiles and hearts as they embrace our community at a time of year that can be difficult. If you would like to volunteer to spread joy and hope, we would love to hear from you.
