We join communities of care that includes clients, families and other support systems to help create positive futures built on independence and esteem.
Working in partnership with clients, families and other support systems, and taking a holistic and multi-sensory approach, specialist Developmental Educators conduct assessments and develop adjustable plans that help people living with disability to set and achieve personal goals.
We also provide case management and advocacy.
If you have Developmental Education listed in your NDIS plan,
Specialist Positive Behaviour Support Practitioners create personalised plans with preventative and reactive strategies that help people living with disability understand their behaviour, the reasons for it and how to behave in a more appropriate manner.
The plans are informed by mental health knowledge and the assessment of the social and emotional needs of others.
These can include everyday tasks such as cooking, cleaning and personal hygiene.
We do this by ensuring NDIS funding is directed towards finding houses suitable to individual needs and providing appropriate in-home supports.
This is done after undertaking assessments of behaviour, language and communication skills and looking at complex behavioural needs. Through this we identify behaviours that are potentially harmful or continuously concerning and create strategies to help diminish or eliminate undesired behaviours, using a human rights-based framework.
We also uncover the root cause of a behaviour and help people living with disability understand behaviours and provide strategies to self-regulate.
