Youth Mentoring

Having a mentor in life is something we can all benefit from and it’s no different for children and young people. Our Youth Mentoring program aims to enrich the lives of young people by helping them develop positive relationships and connections in their community. It helps with their social life, their emotional wellbeing and their cultural identity. Call (08) 8273 7100.

The young people in our Youth Mentoring Program are aged between 10-17 years and are under the Guardianship of the Chief Executive. However, it is not solely for those using Baptist Care SA services. It is available state-wide to young people from a variety of services and accommodation types including: out of home care, kinship placements, therapeutic foster care placements and other emergency care services.

It works like this: as a young person, you get a personal mentor.  Together, you determine your needs, goals and desired outcomes. You are involved from the referral stage all the way to the planning of the mentoring service to ensure your views, skills and interests are considered.

Referrals for our Youth Mentoring program can be made by your social worker to the mentoring team.
