Support to live independently for people with disability who have higher support needs.
At BaptistCare, we begin by taking the time to understand what matters to you, what you would like to do more independently and where you feel ready to grow.
Whether you live alone or share with others, our Support Workers will work alongside of you to build your daily living skills in ways that will strengthen your confidence and support gradual, sustainable progress towards your NDIS plan goals.
Because independence is not about doing everything alone, it’s about having the right support in place while you develop capability and greater choice in your daily life.
Our SIL services include:
Supports vary depending on individual needs and NDIS funding arrangements.
Practical support to help you maintain confidence and independence in your own home.
In-Home Supports are designed to help you maintain independence and manage day-to-day responsibilities where you already live. Support is shaped around your routines, your preferences and the way you like things done. Because maintaining independence at home is not about doing everything alone. It means having reliable support, so your day feels safe, steady and achievable.

Learning for living.
Developmental Education is a NDIS capacity-building support that focuses on strengthening skills and abilities that enhance wellbeing, independence and participation in everyday life.
Developmental Educators are allied health professionals with a disability-specific qualification. In collaboration with families and support networks They work alongside people living with disability to co-design supports that build skills, increase capacity and strengthen independence. All supports are guided by respectful, evidence-based and person-centred practice, resulting in tailored programs that promote choice, confidence and quality of life. This support helps people increase independence, build practical skills and achieve meaningful everyday goals under their NDIS plan.
Our Developmental Education supports are practical, goal-focused and delivered in real-life settings such as homes, schools and community environments. We provide tailored supports that are individualised, measurable and directly linked to each participant’s NDIS goals and desired outcomes.
Creating space for greater understanding and create safer, steadier responses.
Positive Behaviour Support explores what may sit beneath behaviours of concern and identifies practical ways to reduce risk and increase stability by focussing on dignity, safety and long-term capability.
Through a considered and thoughtful approach, communication, emotional regulation, routines and environments are reviewed to better understand influencing factors. Clear and consistent strategies are then developed to support safer responses and strengthen participation across home, school and community settings.
All supports are delivered through respectful, evidence-based and person-centred practice.
Positive Behaviour Support is provided by qualified, NDIS-registered practitioners in collaboration with participants and their support networks.
Practical skills for everyday participation.
Occupational Therapy is for people with disability who want to improve practical skills and increase independence in daily activities. It focuses on helping you participate more fully by strengthening functional abilities and reducing environmental barriers.
Support is delivered by qualified Occupational Therapists who work with you to develop skills and identify adjustments that improve safety and accessibility at home, school, work or in the community.
