Last month, our Adventure team traded their usual camp settings for a morning at Tumbelin Farm – and came away with a much bigger picture of the work BaptistCare Adventure does.
For most of our staff, it was their first time on the property. Across the morning, the Tumbelin team walked us through the four “Lives” that shape every young person’s journey there: Home Life, Farm Life, Adventure Life and Learning Life – a circuit-breaker from addiction, built on stability, purpose, connection and skills for the future.
We heard fireside stories, got a feel for the rhythm of farm life, and even planted trees in the nature corridor that’ll be giving shade to young people for years to come.
It was a good reminder of why we do what we do. At Adventure, we exist to help people connect – to themselves, to others, to God, and to the natural world. Tumbelin Farm lives that out every single day, and it was a privilege to see it up close and understand how Adventure Therapy fits into that bigger mission.
BaptistCare Adventure isn’t just school camps – it’s also this.
