Adventure Camping Volunteer Roles

 

Volunteer Bunkhouse Leaders

Leading groups of young people through week-long musters in a Christian camping environment. We are looking for Bunkhouse Leaders for our school holiday musters at Wirraway Homestead to lead groups of young people aged 10-15 years through week-long musters in a Christian camping environment. Our volunteer bunkhouse leaders are mentored by working alongside our friendly and experienced team and explore and grow in the Christian faith while building positive and trusting relationships. Many bunkhouse leaders find it is a great way to enhance their education and gain status towards their studies.  

Volunteer Administration Assistant

Providing administrative support and day-to-day support with general tasks. The Volunteer Administration Assistant works alongside the Administrative Officer to provide administration and general support to the Wirraway Adventure Pathways Team. 

Disability Pathways Volunteer Roles

Volunteer Administration Support

We’re looking for a Volunteer NDIS Administration Assistant to support our dedicated and vibrant team at our Salisbury office. Our new Volunteer NDIS Administration Assistant will provide an array of general administrative tasks from helping set up training rooms and archiving to preparing shopping lists and watering plants– no two days will be the same.

 

WestCare Centre Volunteer Roles

Volunteer Kitchen Assistants

Each week, Baptist Care SA cooks and serves almost 600 meals to members of our community who are experiencing homelessness, loneliness and social isolation. To help us achieve this, we’re looking for Volunteer Kitchen Assistants for 5 to 15 hours per week. Working alongside our qualified chef in our fully equipped kitchen, Volunteer Kitchen Assistants help us prepare breakfasts and lunches each weekday at our WestCare Centre.  

Volunteer Food Hub Assistants

Baptist Care SA’s Food Hub gives people in need a place to shop for food and essential items at a reduced cost. To help us provide this valuable service, we’re looking for Volunteer Food Hub Assistants for 5-15 hours per week. Volunteer Food Hub Assistant provide our community with friendly customer service, operate the cash register, scan grocery items and stock shelves.  

Volunteer Reception Support

Serving our community in a dynamic environment where volunteers must have experience dealing with complex clients and behaviours. Reception at our WestCare Centre is a busy place. We require support to help us support our community who are facing varied and complex issues. They span homelessness, domestic violence, social isolation, probation and parole, emergency food relief and health. We’re hoping to find people who can commit to at least one day per week.  

Volunteer Drivers

Volunteer Drivers pick up donated food and deliver it to Baptist Care SA’s Food Hub. Help us us provide low cost and free food to people with a Concession Card, Immi Card or Health Care Card, or student card. 

Volunteer Gardeners

Creating a green sanctuary at our homelessness hub, where people who are marginalised can feel safe and at peace while surrounded by the beauty of nature. Volunteer Gardeners care for plants and gardens and help create green welcoming spaces for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. We are looking for someone to help us create a green sanctuary at our homelessness hub, where people who are marginalised can feel safe and at peace while surrounded by the beauty of nature. 

Volunteer Pastoral Care Assistants build positive and supportive relationships with our WestCare Centre community. We are looking for Volunteer Pastoral Care Assistants who can:

  • Commit to one shift per week.
  • Be available between 9am to 1pm, Monday to Friday.
  • Commit to at least three months.

Volunteer Hairdressers

Baptist Care SA is looking for hairdressers to give people who are experiencing homelessness, or who are at risk of homelessness, kindness along with a haircut. Through the act of giving a haircut, Volunteer Hairdressers create connections with vulnerable and marginalised community members that helps them to build greater self-esteem and wellbeing. If you are a qualified hairdresser who is compassionate, committed and kind we’d love to hear from you. 

Provide leadership and support to the Community Connections music program, Chords and Connections by attending the fortnightly program, chatting with and encouraging participants in the program, and modelling positive participation. 

Important Information for Volunteers

Volunteers are required to have: 

  • Current Working with Children Check or DHS Child Related Employment Screening Clearance.
  • National Police Check (less than 12 months old).
  • Safe Environments for Children and Young People (Formerly Child Safe Environments) Training Certificate (less than 3 years old).
