gifts-in-wills

Change the future, today.

Leaving a Gift in your Will is the ultimate way to care for your family and loved ones. It can also be transformative for those served by organisations like Baptist Care SA. In making these gifts, you are expressing enduring care and commitment.

Who will your Gift help?

Every week, hundreds of children, families and individuals reach out to us for support.

Your gift will support the ongoing provision of

  • a safe, caring place to live for children unable to stay with their families
  • education and employment opportunities for young people who would otherwise find it very hard to get a job and gain vital living skills
  • a warm welcome and access to vital services for those experiencing homelessness and disadvantage
  • therapeutic services to empower individuals and families to overcome adversity and embrace opportunity
  • early intervention initiatives designed to break the cycle and give struggling South Australians their future back.

Different Types of Gifts you can give

In general, there are three major types of gifts you can include in your Will:

  • Specific Gifts
These are gifts of particular pieces of property such as houses, cars, jewellery, books  or clothing made to a person or organisation
  • General Gifts
Sums or money or percentages of the value of your estate made to a particular person or organisation.
  • Residual Gifts
These are what is left after the specific and general bequests have been paid.

You choose how your Gift will be directed

A gift to Baptist Care SA

Gifts to Baptist Care SA are carefully considered by our Board and allocated according to need, unless specified by you.

A gift to Baptist Care (SA) Foundation

Gifts to our Foundation are placed in an Endowment Fund for the long-term benefit of Baptist Care SA. Every year a minimum of 4% of the revenue generated from the fund is given to Baptist Care SA.  How this is used is determined by the Baptist Care SA Board, but is broadly directed to building organisational capacity and community engagement.
