Sharing Together – 19 May

Sharing Together: Becoming an informed friend with a person living with mental health issues.

Would your church like to learn how to become a hopeful, inclusive and supportive community for people living with mental distress?

A person’s recovery from mental distress is helped by meaningful relationships, community connections, and the ability to actively participate in community.

This one day workshop will prepare you to be a friend who understands:

  1. The impacts of living with mental distress
  2. What informed friendship and sharing together are
  3. What recovery, restorative support, coping and reframing look like
  4. How informed friends can support recovery

At times challenges and crises may occur in the person’s life. An informed friend knows when and who to refer to, and how to provide timely and appropriate support as an effective partner in recovery.

Participants receive a workbook with additional material for later reference.

Morning tea is provided. Please supply your own lunch.
