What an EGGcellent Easter!

Almost 500 Easter Eggs given to young people in our care

A huge thank you to everyone who dropped in chocolate eggs for the young people in our care. Our original target was 400 eggs and thanks to the generosity of staff, volunteers, Baptist Churches and the wider community, we well and truly exceeded that number, receiving close to 500 eggs! This has given the young people in our care a big boost and we thank you for letting them know you are thinking of them.

We also provided complimentary copies of ‘Mary and the Gardener’ by Andrew McDonough to our young people and distributed them through the Community Food Hub.

We would like to give a special mention to students from Richmond Primary School.
Their teacher read our facebook post about needing eggs and told her students.  Newly arrived in Australia, these young people are learning English and decided to do a
Read-A-Thon and use the money they raised from their sponsors to purchase chocolate eggs. They then decorated Easter bags and delivered these proudly to our Wayville office.  A wonderful achievement for everyone!
